A felicidade na filosofia de Tomás de Aquino [Happiness in the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas]

A crise de paradigmas da modernidade provocou um ceticismo generalizado que perpassa pelos temas da filosofia, inclusive as discussões acerca da felicidade do homem contemporâneo. Por isso, a felicidade vem desaparecendo dos debates filosóficos e isso traz grandes prejuízos para a vida humana. Com este artigo, querer-se retomar esta questão à luz da filosofia de Tomás de Aquino pontuando sua importância no texto filosófico atual. Para tanto, nossa discussão se fundamenta, principalmente, da terceira parte da Suma Teológica, juntamente com as contribuições oriundas de seus comentadores. Ver-se-á que Tomás de Aquino incorpora, critica e dá continuidade à tradição das éticas eudemonistas. Admitindo que o fim da vida humana seja a felicidade e que ela vem de Deus. Desse modo, a felicidade se apresenta para todas as criaturas, como um movimento de retorno a Deus, cuja inteligência e vontade desempenham um papel fundamental. Logo, o homem não pode não querer sua felicidade, pois o ordenamento ontológico para ela é co-extensivo à sua própria natureza.
