Abstract

Se para os filósofos pré-socráticos o ser é unívoco, em Aristóteles, polívoco, em
Tomás de Aquino, ele é análogo, ou seja, expressa-se, manifesta-se, desvela-se
por meio da analogia, pela sua existência, pelo actus essendi, pelo ato de existir.
Assim, o ser, Deus, é primeiro vivenciado antes de ser apreendido e compreendido
pelo intelecto humano, sendo o fim último do homem, propiciador de
beatitude. Por meio de sua evidência, pela caracterização de Deus como ser
primeiro e pelos seus atributos de essência e existência, procuraremos descrever,
em linhas gerais, noções sobre o ser em Tomás de Aquino.
